Converter Pad Repair Mix is free-flowing granular magnesia refractory repair material specially developed for BOF bottom pad and taphole surrounding area. It has proper high-temperature flowability, good sintering performance, high hot strength and outstanding slag resistance. It is added into hot converter after tapping. By tilting the furnace, the material spreads and covers the eroded pad surface. It sinters into a dense protective layer to restore the bottom profile, prevent slag penetration and protect the bottom lining. It is dedicated to the furnace pad area, different from general large-face hot repair mix. Custom particle gradation and formula are available.
