
Introduction
Fireclay refractory plastics are the most commonly used type of plastic refractory. They are made from high-quality clay clinker, with a matrix consisting of raw clay fine powder and high-alumina fine powder, and contain a specific amount of chemical binders. They are recommended for use at temperatures below 1350°C.
Clay refractory plastic is a plastic refractory material produced by mixing clay as the primary binder with aggregates (such as high-alumina bauxite, clay clinker, etc.) and a small amount of additives, followed by aging. It maintains a plastic (mud-like) state at room temperature, can be constructed manually or mechanically, and adapts well to complex shapes. It is widely used in lining construction, repairs, and the building of refractory layers in special-shaped parts of medium- to low-temperature industrial kilns.

Usually consists of clay clinker (clay calcined at high temperatures, such as Jiao Baoshi) or high-alumina bauxite, providing high-temperature resistance and structural strength. Particle sizes are classified into coarse (5–10 mm), medium (1–5 mm), and fine powder (≤0.088 mm), mixed according to a specific grading. Fine powder accounts for about 20%–30% to fill voids and enhance density.
Binder
Primarily clay (such as soft or semi-soft clay), which must be calcined to remove crystal water. Its colloidal properties help form ceramic bonds at high temperatures, enhancing the material's integrity.
Additives
Includes small amounts of plasticizers (such as dextrin, calcium lignosulfonate) to improve plasticity, or water glass to adjust the hardening rate.

Curing Requirements: After molding, allow natural curing for at least 24 hours. Avoid direct exposure to high heat to ensure proper sintering and stable structure formation.
Storage Conditions: Store in sealed containers in a dry location. If plasticity decreases after the expiration date, water may be added for re-mixing and reuse-but the performance must be tested to confirm compliance.
