Description

Aluminum Non-Wetting Castable is a high-performance refractory material specially developed for the melting process of aluminum and aluminum alloys. By adding special anti-wetting components to traditional high-alumina castables, these materials effectively block the penetration of molten aluminum. In the aluminum processing industry, the average service life of aluminum melting furnace linings often depends on the aluminum erosion resistance of the castable. High-quality aluminum non-wetting castables can extend the service life of the lining by 3-5 times, while reducing molten aluminum contamination and improving product quality.

 

From the perspective of materials science, the realization of the non-wetting property mainly relies on three mechanisms: first, high-purity raw materials are selected to reduce reactivity, with the Al₂O₃ content in typical formulations generally exceeding 65%; second, ultrafine powder technology is used to improve material density, requiring a bulk density of more than 2.4 g/cm³; most critically, composite barium salts, chromium oxide and other non-wetting agents are added to form an energy barrier on the material surface. These technical elements together form the basic framework for the formulation of enterprise standards.
