Introduction
Introduction
Alumina bubble brick is a lightweight refractory material primarily composed of alumina (Al₂O₃, typically ≥75%). It is sintered at high temperatures using hollow spherical particles with closed internal pores. Its microstructure features a hollow-sphere skeleton interspersed with pores, resulting in a porosity of 60%–80%, which gives it both high strength and low thermal conductivity.
Main Applications
Metallurgical Industry: Used in ladle covers, heating furnace linings, and thermal insulation layers for high-temperature kilns.
Ceramics & Glass Industry: Applied in high-temperature sections of tunnel kilns and for roof insulation in glass melting furnaces to reduce heat loss.
Chemical & Energy Industry: Used in linings of cracking furnaces, thermal insulation layers for high-temperature reactors, and insulation components in aerospace applications.
Advantage
Dual Advantages of Thermal Insulation & High-Temperature Resistance:Maintains stable thermal insulation performance at ultra-high temperatures, surpassing ordinary lightweight refractories.
Erosion Resistance:Demonstrates excellent resistance to acidic/neutral slags and high-temperature gases, thereby extending equipment service life.
Construction Convenience:Can be processed into standard bricks, shaped bricks, or precast components as needed, making it adaptable to complex furnace structures.

Process
Raw Material Pretreatment (Bubble Classification, Binder Preparation)
→ Batching & Mixing (Dry + Wet Mixing)
→ Molding (Vibration/Isostatic Pressing)
→ Drying (Stepped Heating)
→ Sintering (1,600°C high-temperature sintering)
→ Post-Treatment (Machining/Coating)
→ Performance Testing
→ Finished Product Warehousing
Commonly Used Binder: Phosphate Binder
Types: Aluminum dihydrogen phosphate (Al(H₂PO₄)₃), magnesium phosphate (Mg(H₂PO₄)₂)
Mechanism: In sol form at room temperature, reacts with Al₂O₃ to form an AlPO₄ ceramic phase. Upon heating (300–600°C), forms a reticulated structure, increasing flexural strength to 8–12 MPa.
Advantages: Resists temperatures up to 1,600°C, resists acidic slag erosion, and performs well in oxidizing atmospheres.
