
Introduction
Low-creep clay refractory bricks are made from high-quality raw materials with minimal impurities, such as dense, pure fused corundum, andalusite, and kyanite. These materials are combined with additives and binders, mixed according to a specific formula, thoroughly blended, formed under high pressure, and sintered at elevated temperatures. The lower the creep rate, the less deformation the bricks exhibit under high temperatures, ensuring greater stability as linings in thermal equipment. These bricks are commonly used in hot blast stoves.

process
Raw material selection and impurity removal: Clay chamotte is washed and subjected to magnetic separation to remove iron impurities, followed by grading and screening; andalusite and mullite are separately subjected to ultrafine grinding.
Use precise raw material batching: Three-level proportioning of coarse particles, medium particles, and fine powder to control particle packing density.
Intensive Mixing: Water and aluminum phosphate binder are added, followed by thorough kneading to obtain a homogeneous mix free from segregation.
High-pressure Forming:Formed using 300–600-ton friction brick presses, the green bodies exhibit high density and low internal stress.
Stage Drying:Low-temperature pre-drying followed by medium-temperature drying to prevent cracking of the green bodies.
High-temperature Firing:Fired with prolonged holding at 1380–1430°C to achieve complete mullitization, resulting in moderate sintering without excessive vitrification.
Sorting and Physicochemical Inspection:Comprehensive inspection of creep, refractoriness under load, strength, and porosity, followed by grading, marking, and warehousing.


Applications

(1) Cement Industry: Used in transition zones, cooling zones, and preheaters of cement rotary kilns. These areas are exposed to high-temperature material erosion, thermal stress, and mechanical pressure. Low-creep clay bricks perform well under such conditions, reducing maintenance and improving efficiency.
(2) Glass Industry: Applied in pool walls and breast walls of glass kilns, which operate at high temperatures with large fluctuations. These bricks maintain their shape over long-term exposure, preventing issues like glass leakage. Their thermal shock resistance also helps during kiln start-up and shutdown.
(3) Metallurgical Industry: Used in furnace walls, roofs, flues, and other components of heating, annealing, and equalizing furnaces. They can withstand high temperatures and internal pressure, maintaining the integrity of the furnace structure.

Difference in use environment
Ordinary Clay Bricks:
Suitable for applications that do not require high refractoriness, such as non-critical parts of blast furnaces and hot blast stoves, flues, and chimneys operating below 750°C. While they can withstand moderate heat and mechanical stress, they are not ideal for prolonged use in high-temperature, corrosive, or high-load environments.
Low-porosity Clay Bricks:
Commonly used in steel, glass, and chemical industries where resistance to chemical erosion and thermal fluctuation is important. For example, in glass kiln regenerators and molten iron tanks, they offer erosion resistance, minimize heat loss, and extend equipment life.
