Description

Alumina‑magnesia‑carbon brick is a metallurgical refractory product mainly made of special‑grade bauxite, corundum sand, magnesia and flake graphite. Its chemical composition: \(\boldsymbol{Al_2O_3}\) 60%‑69%, \(\boldsymbol{MgO}\) 7%‑14%, \(\boldsymbol{C}\) 5%‑12%. It is widely applied for ladle linings, continuous‑casting tundishes and secondary refining equipment.

It is high‑pressure formed with resin binder and heat‑treated at 200‑300 ℃. Antioxidants such as silicon powder and aluminum powder are added during production to improve its properties. It features excellent slag corrosion resistance and spalling resistance. Spinel forms at high temperature, producing residual linear expansion, which effectively restrains slag penetration and maintains structural stability.

When used in Baosteel 300 t ladles, its service life reaches 50‑85 heats (max. 102 heats), obviously superior to conventional refractories. Typical physical indexes: bulk density ≥2.96 g/cm³, cold crushing strength ≥40 MPa. For grade AMC‑70, \(\boldsymbol{Al_2O_3}\) ≥70%.
