Description
Taphole Clay is plastic ramming refractory mix for blast furnace taphole. It is mainly alumina, silicon carbide, carbon and binder system. It features good plasticity for easy ramming, fast sintering, high hot strength, excellent resistance to molten iron and slag erosion, low volume shrinkage. After tapping, it is extruded into the taphole to block molten iron. It forms a compact, stable mud column. It controls taphole depth, maintains steady tapping speed and avoids breakthrough or premature opening. It is widely used for blast furnace ironmaking. Carbon-free and tar-free environmental grades are available, custom formula acceptable.
