Description
Coal Tar Pitch is a carbon-rich binder distilled from coal tar. It features high carbon residue, good wettability to magnesia and carbon aggregates, excellent high-temperature bonding property. It is commonly used as binder for water-free taphole clay, magnesia carbon bricks and other carbon-containing refractory products. Upon heating, it decomposes and carbonizes to form a continuous carbon network, improving hot strength, thermal shock resistance and slag resistance. Low‑quinoline insoluble and modified environmentally friendly grades are available. Softening point can be customized.
