Carbon Paste is plastic carbon composite mixture made of calcined petroleum coke, graphite powder and carbon binder such as coal tar pitch or modified resin. It features excellent electrical conductivity, good plasticity, high hot strength and good thermal shock resistance. It is used as ramming material for submerged arc furnace lining, bottom carbon lining and repairing paste for carbon electrodes. It can be compacted easily during construction. After carbonization, it forms dense carbon lining with stable conductive property and good resistance to molten metal. It is widely applied in ferroalloy furnaces, silicon furnaces and calcium carbide furnaces. Custom softening point and workability grades are available.
