Description
Water-bonded Taphole Clay is plastic taphole material with water as binder. It consists of alumina, silicon carbide, carbon and water-based bonding agent. It has good plasticity, low cost and simple preparation. It is used to block blast furnace taphole after tapping. When heated, moisture evaporates and it gradually sinters. It is suitable for small blast furnaces with lower tapping pressure. Compared with water-free taphole clay, it is cheaper but slower to sinter, and there is risk of steam bursting if drying is insufficient. Multiple grades are available, custom formula acceptable.
