Description
Retarder is functional setting regulator for monolithic refractories. It controls hydration speed of cement-bonded castables. It features stable retarding effect, little influence on final strength. It slows down the hydration reaction of calcium aluminate cement, prevents premature setting under high temperature or high ambient temperature. It extends usable time, guarantees sufficient pouring and vibration operation. It is widely applied in low cement castables, common castables and gunning mixes. Custom grades matched with dispersants are available.
